How You Can Help
The Ronald McDonald House® needs tremendous support from volunteers to make it "home" to those in need. Our in-house volunteers interact the most with the families, providing a sympathetic ear and sharing a common bond of love for the House and the families.
We have a wide range of rewarding volunteer opportunities available for you:
Weekly house volunteer - Minimum 2-hour weekly shift for at least 6 months. Job responsibilities include administrative help in the office, phone reception, data entry, light housekeeping, tutoring and playing with the sick children.
Group meal preparation - Corporations, services, church and community groups prepare and serve an afternoon or evening meal for 30-40 House residents.
Sponsorship of special activities - Corporations and community groups plan holiday parties, games, magic shows and other activities for House residents.
Garden/spring cleaning volunteers - College students, social groups and corporations with an interest in gardening and a willingness to work hard to clean up the House.
Fund-raising volunteers - Work with the Fund-Raising Committee members and our House Manager to raise money and promote the Ronald McDonald House goal of helping children. The House Manager must interview the interested parties.
Editorial Group - Work with the Assistant House Manager to design and edit the newsletter quarterly, which help to promote Ronald McDonald House to the community.
Relief Volunteer - job responsibilities include accommodate group visit or service during Sunday and public holiday. Minimum 3 shifts once a year.
